STEP 9 – EAR ZONES

broken image

There are over 400 Reflexology points in the ears. Ear Reflexology can be traced back to Chinese Medicine. Ear Reflexology is believed to stimulate the Central Nervous System in contrast to traditional Reflexology which works on relaxing the body and brings the body into balance, also known as homeostasis.

Think of the ear Reflexology chart as that to a baby in the womb or a body in the fetal position. Picture the baby with its head at the lobe of the ear. The areas of the body on the baby then correlate to the reflex sections affected in these areas of the ear. This is a simplified way to connect the body zones to the specific zones in the ear.

Some feel the ears are the easiest to work with since they are not covered by clothing and clothing or shoes do not need to be removed to access the ears.

Most of the reflex points can be worked with my massaging the outer edge and lobe of the ear. The inner portion of the outer ear also contains many reflex points.

Due to the small area of space, some feel that using a cotton swab is an easier way to access and stimulate the reflex points in this area.

QUESTION – HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT OF MASSAGING YOUR EARS?
