STEP 7 – FEET ZONES

broken image

Have you ever wondered why we apply Essential Oils to the feet? Our feet have around 7,200 nerve endings. These nerve endings correspond to different parts of the body. Our feet also have the largest pores to help Essential Oils absorb into the body. Reflexology uses these corresponding nerve endings to connect to body systems and organs all over the body.

Reflexology uses zones in the feet to help us remember where to apply pressure and support different body systems.

These SIMPLIFIED zones are:

• Toes – which contain the reflex points for the head.

• Ball of the Foot – which contains the reflex points for the chest.

• Arch of the Foot – which contains the reflex points for the abdomen and organs.

• Heel of the Foot – which contains the reflex points for the pelvic area.

Essential Oils can be applied topically to the bottoms of feet without dilution except for Hot Oils such as Cinnamon, Oregano, and Thyme Essential Oils. Using a Carrier Oil when applying topically helps to slow the evaporation of the Essential Oils so the benefits can be enjoyed longer and helps to avoid any skin irritation for those who may have more sensitive skin.
